Total hip prosthesis and assessment of the our clinical cases

Fourteen total hip replacement arthroplasties (6 Ring, 3 Müller, 2 McKee-Farrar, 2 Urist - Thompson and 1 Urist-Moore) performed between August 1970 and November 1973 in Orthopaedic and Traumatology Clinic of Gülhane Military Medical Academy and Training Hospital and followed for between nine and forthy six months. The discussion was made related to problems about different:
Total hip prosthesis. Under the condition of today it was decided that by applying lateral exposure without detaching the greater trochanter and by using polyethylene-methal type of total hip prosthesis with polymethyimethacrylate gives better results.

Ağustos 1970 -Kasım 1973 arasında Gülhane Askeri Tıp Akademisi ve Eğitim Hastahanesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Kliniğinde 14 total kalça protezi (6 Ring, 3 Müller, 2 McKee-Farrar, 2 Urist-Thompson ve 1 Urist-Moore) artroplastisi yapıldı. Değişik total protezlerle ilgili sorunlar tartışıldı. Bugünkü koşullar altında lateral girişimli, büyük trokanteri ayırmadan uygulanan ve çimentolu, polietilen-metal tipte total protezlerin daha iyi sonuçlar verdiği kanısına varıldı.
