Natural disasters are catastrophe that cause loss of life, injury and financial losses, cause negative economic and social consequences, and cause destruction. Natural disasters that many people can be exposed to around the world at any time affect the family system as well as the individual effects. In this review study examining the effects of natural disasters on the family system, the effects on the post-natural disaster relationship between spouses, the relationship between parents and children, and the sibling subsystem were examined. In addition, in the research, protective factors and risks for the family system in natural disasters were discussed and studies on family counseling after natural disasters were discussed. In the context of the examinations, suggestions were made to strengthen the family system before, during and after the natural disaster.
