A SENSORY GARDEN DESIGN ASSOCIATED WITH URBAN IDENTITY COMPONENTS: TEKİRDAĞ EXAMPLE

Öz

The study is based on the hypothesis that "The senses play an active role in reflecting the identity that shapes a city to the person, and with the effective use of the senses, people will be provided with the opportunity to integrate and experience the city". For this purpose, a sensory park area was designed in which visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory and taste perceptions related to Tekirdağ's identity values are included. Within the framework of the purpose, an answer to the question "How can visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory and taste perceptions related to Tekirdağ's identity values be included in the design processes?" was sought. With the sensory garden designed on a sample area within the framework of the related question; it is aimed to emphasise the importance of sensory perceptions that will strengthen user experiences, especially with Tekirdağ's urban identity values. The main methodology was developed within the framework of landscape design processes developed based on literature data and field observations. AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop and Lumion programmes were used in the design process. The results obtained from the study will contribute to the construction of the relationship between the importance of sensory design and urban identity and the effective use of sensory features that affect the identity values of Tekirdağ in design.

KENT KİMLİĞİ BİLEŞENLERİ İLE İLİŞKİLENDİRİLMİŞ BİR DUYUSAL BAHÇE TASARIMI: TEKİRDAĞ ÖRNEĞİ

Öz

Çalışma “Bir kenti biçimlendiren kimliğin kişiye yansıtılmasında, duyular etkin bir rol oynamakta olup, duyuların etkin kullanımı ile kişilere kentle bütünleşme ve deneyimleme fırsatı sağlanmış olacaktır” hipotezi üzerine kurgulanmıştır. Bu amaçla, Tekirdağ’ın kimlik değerleri ile ilişkili görsel, işitsel, dokunsal, kokusal ve tat algılarının dahil edildiği bir duyusal park alanı tasarlanmıştır. Amaç çerçevesinde “Tekirdağ’ın kimlik değerleri ile ilişkili görsel, işitsel, dokunsal, kokusal ve tat algıları tasarım süreçlerine nasıl dahil edilebilir? sorusuna yanıt aranmıştır. İlgili soru çerçevesinde örnek bir alan üzerinde tasarlanan duyusal bahçe ile; özellikle Tekirdağ’ın kent kimliği değerleri ile kullanıcı deneyimlerini güçlendirecek duyusal algıların önemine vurgu yapılması hedeflenmiştir. Ana yöntem kurgusu literatür verileri ile alan gözlemlerine dayalı olarak geliştirilen peyzaj tasarım süreçleri çerçevesinde geliştirilmiştir. Tasarım sürecinde AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop ve Lumion programlarından yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlar, duyusal tasarımın önemi ile kent kimliği ilişkisinin kurgulanmasında ve Tekirdağ'ın kimlik değerlerine etki eden duyusal özelliklerin tasarımda etkin bir şekilde kullanılmasına katkı sağlayacaktır.
