Investigations on struggling with Ricania simulans (Walker) 1851 (Hemiptera: Ricaniidae) an important pest of the Eastern Black Sea Coastlines

Ricania simulans has been causing damage in agricultural areas in the Eastern Black Sea coastline since 2006. Due to the lack of studies on struggling against this harmful species, it continues to spread day after another. In this study, which was carried out in Kemalpaşa region of Hopa town in Artvin province of Turkey in 2013-2014, the mature Ricania simulans population density was aimed to be decreased using light traps and sticky traps in agricultural areas in 2013-2014. The results of statistical analysis conducted based on the numbers of captured Ricania simulans in each trap, it was found that there were significant differences between light traps and sticky traps. Light traps captured more mature individual than sticky traps. As a result, we suggest that light traps can be used as important tools in the fight against R. simulans

Doğu Karadeniz sahil şeridinin önemli zararlısı Ricania simulans (Walker,1851) (Hemiptera: Ricaniidae)’ın mücadelesi üzerine araştırmalar

Ricania simulans (Walker, 1851) (Hemiptera: Ricaniidae) , Doğu Karadeniz sahil şeridinde 2006 yılından beri özellikle tarım alanlarında zarara neden olmaktadır. Bu zararlı türün mücadelesine yönelik herhangi çalışma yürütülmediğinden her geçen gün yayılışını sürdürmektedir. Böceğin mücadelesine yönelik 2013-2014 yıllarında Artvin ili, Hopa ilçesi, Kemalpaşa beldesinde tarım alanlarında gerçekleştirilen bu çalışma ile ışık ve yapışkan tuzaklar kullanılarak ergin popülasyon yoğunluğu düşürülmeye çalışılmıştır. Tuzakların yakaladığı böcek sayıları dikkate alınarak yapılan istatistiksel analizler sonucunda ışık tuzağına yakalanan birey sayısı ile yapışkan bant tuzağa yakalanan birey sayısı arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunduğu ve ışık tuzağının daha fazla birey yakaladığı tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda ışık tuzaklarının bu zararlı türün mücadelesinde kullanılabilir olduğu kanısına varılmıştır.
