Baskın Olmayan Elde Karpal Tünel Sendromu

Abstract

AMAÇ: Karpal tünel sendromu (KTS) median sinirin el bileği seviyesinde, karpal tünel içinde farklı nedenlere bağlı olarak, basıya maruz kalması sonucu gelişen, üst ekstremitenin en sık görülen periferik bir nöropatisidir.Ülkemizde yapılan bir çalışmada sağ el tercihi oranı %67,5, sol el tercih oranı %31,9 ve her iki eli de kullanabilme oranı %1,1 olarak saptanmıştır.Karpal tünel sendromunun baskın olan elde daha sık görüldüğü bilinmektedir.Bu çalışmada izole baskın olmayan elde veya daha belirgin derecede KTS saptanan olguların demografik ve risk faktörleriyle ilişkisi araştırılmıştır.
YÖNTEM: Ocak 2016- ocak 2020 tarihleri arasında, Samsun Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi elektofizyoloji laboratuvarına KTS ön tanısıyla yönlendirilen ve KTS saptanan olgular ardışık olarak çalışmaya dahil edilmiş ve retrospektif olarak incelenmiştir.
BULGULAR:.Çalışmaya KTS ön tanısıyla EMG laboratuvarına yönlendirilen ardışık 3304 hasta alındı. Hastaların 439 kişide KTS saptanmadığı için çalışma dışı bırakılarak 2865 olgu değerlendirildi. İki taraflı KTS olgularının %57,1’inde baskın elde daha belirgin, %8,5’inde baskın olmayan elinde daha belirgin KTS saptanmıştır.Her iki el tercihi olan olguların %60’ında sağ, %40’ında sol elde daha belirgin KTS saptanmıştır.
SONUÇ: Sağ ve Sol el tercihli hastaların yaş, cinsiyet, demografik ve sinir iletim incelemeleri açısından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmadı .
