WALSH’UN AİLENİN KENDİNİ TOPARLAMA GÜCÜ ÜZERİNE KURAMSAL BAKIŞ AÇISI

Öz

Bu çalışmada, Walsh’un ailenin kendini toparlama gücü konusundaki kuramsal bakış açısı sunulmaktadır. Froma Walsh, aileyi kendini toparlayabilen bir bütün olarak ele alan bir kuram geliştirmiştir. Bu kapsamda, hem tek tek aile bireylerinin kendini toparlama güçlerini, hem de tek bir yapı olarak ailenin güçlü yönlerini vurgulamış, karşılaşılan sınayıcı olayları da ailenin gelişmesi için birer fırsat olarak görmeyi önermiştir. Buna göre aile hem ekolojik hem de gelişimsel bir bakış açısı ile incelenmektedir. Ayrıca ailenin karşı karşıya kaldığı travmatik durumlara karşı incinmezliği olduğu öne sürülmemektedir. Aksine, ailenin kendini toparlama gücü, ailenin, karşılaştığı durumları uyum sağlayarak karşıladığı, esnek bir duruş sergilediği ve yıpratıcı süreçlerden en az hasarla çıkmayı başarabildiği bir psikolojik süreçtir. Bu süreç, aileyi sadece şu anki sorunlarla başa çıkabilmekte değil, gelecekte karşı karşıya kalabileceği başka sorunları da ele alabilecek güce eriştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu derleme çalışmasında, Walsh’un geliştirmiş olduğu bakış açısı, alan yazın taraması yapılarak ele alınmakta ve tanıtılmaktadır.

WALSH’S THEORETICAL POINT OF VIEW ON FAMILY RESILIENCE

Öz

This review aims to introduce Walsh’s theoretical point of view on family resilience. Froma Walsh has developed a theoretical approach on “family” as a resilient structure. She has simultaneously approached both the resiliency of the individuals making up the family and an integrated monolith of individuals together. She has also suggested to see the challenges that the family is coming face to face as opportunities for the family to go forward. In this regard, the family is analysed both on an ecological and developmental point of view. The claim does not tell that the family is never hurt. On the contrary, this theoretical point of view tells that the family can adapt the difficult situations by a flexible attitude. Every challenge the family has faced would teach something that can be used by the family afterwards. This is a literature review that aims to focus on Walsh’s approach to the concept “family resilience.”
