FINITE ELEMENT METHODS IN DENTISTRY

Öz

During presenting the art of dentistry, the applied force and the factors of this force form the main point on the basis of success and failure of a treatment. In order to get a success, most of the scientific researches are in matter of the forces on teeth, restorations, and a bone. It is so difficult to show the forces on a living organism and even it is sometimes impossible. In these situations, the in-vitro studies gain a value. For a long time, finite element method is often used both for PhD thesis and for doing studies. The finite element method analysis has used more than half a century to solve the mechanic problems of solids and liquids and to do physical analysis. In the method of finite element analysis, we target to solve the problems by starting from the smallest part. The main points that make the method more valuable are the convenience of understanding the problem because of reaching the problems by starting from the smallest part of the models and can be repeated under the same conditions because of being a computer-based analysis. This compilation gives detailed information about finite element method and offers a view for researchers

DİŞ HEKİMLİĞİNDE SONLU ELEMANLAR STRES ANALİZ YÖNTEMİ

Öz

Diş hekimliği sanatını icra ederken, yapılan tedavilerin başarı ve başarısızlıklarınn temelinde uygulanan kuvvet ve bu kuvvetin etkenleri en önemli noktayı oluşturmaktadır. Başarının elde edilmesi için, yapılan bilimsel araştırmaların birçoğu dişlere, restorasyonlara veya kemiğe gelen kuvvetlerin etkileri üzerine olmuştur. Canlı bir organizma üzerinde kuvvetlerin gösterilmesi oldukça zor, hatta bazen imkansızdır. Bu durumlarda in-vitro çalışmalar değer kazanmıştır.

Çok uzun yıllardır gerek doktora tezlerin yapılmasında gerekse yapılan çalışmalarda sıkça kullanılan bir yöntem olan sonlu elamanlar analiz yöntemi sıklıkla kullanılmaktadır. Sonlu elemanlar analiz yöntemi, katı ve sıvıların mekanik sorunlarının çözümü ve yapıların fiziksel analizleri için yarım asırdan fazla süredir kullanılmaktadır. Sonlu elemanlar analiz yöntemi ile bir problemin en küçük parçasından yola çıkarak sorunu çözmek amaçlanmıştır. Sorunun temeline en küçük modeldeki en küçük parçadan ulaşıldığı için problemin anlaşılmasının kolaylaştırılması ve yapılan analiz bilgisayar ortamında yapıldığı için aynı şartlar altında tekrarlanabilir olması nedeniyle güvenilir sonuçlar elde edilmesi bu yöntemi değerli kılan diğer noktaları oluşturmakdır.

Bu derleme ile literatürde çok sık kullanılan bir yöntem olan sonlu elemanlar analiz yöntemi hakkında detaylı bilgi vererek, araştırmacılara bir bakış sunmaktır.
