Ozone Applıcatıons In Dentıstry

Öz

one, is a naturally occuring compound consisting of three oxygen atoms. It is found normally in the the athmosphere and filters the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. Ozone therapy is the application of ozone/oxygen mixture to circulation or body cavities. Ozone therapy has been used in medicine and dentistry for many years. Ozone has various effects such as antimicrobial, antihypoxic, immunomodulator, biosynthetic and analgesic. Due to becoming an increased treatment option also in our country, making various experimental and clinical studies about ozone therapy is getting important. In this review, the basic features and the use of ozone in medicine, dentistry and oral surgery are reported.

Diş Hekimliğinde Ozon Uygulamaları

Öz

on, üç oksijen atomu içeren doğal olarak oluşan bir bileşiktir. Normal olarak atmosferde bulunmaktadır ve güneşin zararlı ultraviyole ışınlarını süzmektedir. Ozon terapi, ozon/oksijen karışımının dolaşıma ya da vücut boşluklarına uygulanmasıdır. Ozon terapi, uzun yıllardır tıp ve diş hekimliğinde uygulanmaktadır. Ozon, antimikrobiyal, antihipoksik, immünomodülatör, biyosentetik ve analjezik gibi çeşitli etkilere sahiptir. Ülkemizde de artan bir tedavi seçeneği haline gelmesi nedeniyle, ozon terapi hakkında çeşitli deneysel ve klinik çalışmalar yapılması önem kazanmaktadır. Bu derlemede, ozonun temel özellikleri ve tıpta, diş hekimliğinde ve oral cerrahideki kullanımı bildirilmiştir.
