Post Systems From Past To Present

Öz

Endodontically treated teeth with coronal damages are restored with post-cores system to fully retain a final crown restoration. Until recently, posts were made of metal and they commonly used because of their superior physical properties. Along with demand for esthetic restorations has increased, metalfree materials with physical properties similar to those of dentin has become a major objective in dentistry. The tooth-colored posts have improved the esthetics of teeth restored with posts and cores. Esthetic posts made of either reinforced resins or strength ceramic. Several types of fiber reinforced posts such as quartz, glass, polyethylene, carbon, are currently available. Selection of an appropriate post-core system from the wide variety of available systems may lead to a dilemma for clinicians. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to review some informations about post systems and assist the selection of the post-core assembly.

Geçmişten Günümüze Post Sistemleri

Öz

Kronal hasarlı endodontik tedavili dişler postkor restorasyonları ile restore edilir. Metal postlar günümüze kadar yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Artan estetik ihtiyaçla bereaber metal içermeyen, fiziksel özellikleri dentine benzeyen restorasyonlar dişhekimliğinin konusu olmuştur. Diş renginde olan postlar, post-kor ile restore edilen dişlerin estetiğini arttırmıştır. Estetik postlar güçlendirilmiş rezin veya sermakten oluşur. Quartz, Cam, polyetilen ve carbon ile güçlendirilmiş post sistemleri mevcuttur. Birçok post sistemi arasından uygun olanı seçmek klinisyenleri hep bir çıkmaza sokmuştur. Bu nedenle, bu makalenin amacı post sistemleri hakkında bazı bilgiler vererek post-kor seçiminde klinisyene yardımcı olmaktır.
