Sigara Kullanımının Periodontal Tedavi Sonuçlarına Etkisi Ve Sigara İçenlerde Uygulanabilecek Klinik Prosedürler

Öz

Sigaranın insan vücudundaki organlara zarar verdiği ve sigara içenlerin içmeyenlere göre kanser, kardiyovasküler hastalıklar, immün sistem bozuklukları gibi çeşitli hastalıklara maruz kalma risklerinin yüksekliği nedeniyle daha az sağlıklı oldukları bilinmektedir. Sigara içenlerde periodontal hastalığın prevalansı içmeyenlere kıyasla daha yüksektir. Sigara değiştirilebilen bir faktör olduğundan sigaranın periodontal tedaviye olan etkisinin bilinmesi yararlıdır. Bu yüzden bu derlemenin amacı sigaranın cerrahi ve cerrahi olmayan periodontal tedavi sonuçlarına olan etkisi, bu etkileri ortadan kaldırmak için lokal olarak uygulanan yardımcı antimikrobiyallerin kullanımıyla ilgili son yıllarda yapılan çalışmaları gözden geçirmek ve bu çalışmaların ışığında sigara içenlerde uygulanabilecek tedavi yaklaşımları ve tedavi sonucu beklentisi hakkında bilgi vermektir
