Periodontal hastal k di lerin destek dokular n niltihabi bir hastal 1 d r ve oldukça yayg nd r. Di yüzeyi temizli1i (Scaling) ve kök yüzeyi düzle tirilmesi (Rp) i lemlerinin yan s ra di yüzeyi cilalanmas (Dp), diyüzeylerinden irritanlar ç karmak için periodontal hastal klar n ba lang ç tedavisinde yayg n kullan lan tekniklerdir. Bu makalenin amac ,periodontal doku elde etmek için yap lan ba lang çtedavisini (initial treatment), bu ba lang ç tedavisinin di lere, yumu ak dokulara, restorasyonlara, çevreye verdi1i zararlar n ve bunlar n giderilme stratejilerini literatürler 1 nda de1erlendirmekti
