Artificial intelligence systems can assist individuals in many areas of life, including academic environments. However, opinions vary regarding their effectiveness in these settings. This research investigates the attitudes of academics working in the Faculty of Health Sciences towards scientific research questions prepared by ChatGPT. The study involved six health sciences departments and 30 academicians, with five faculty members from each department. The questions were presented to the participants without being told that it was created by artificial intelligence. The results showed that the faculty members rated the questions for each department as “appropriate.” However, they criticized two points: (a) the terminology used in certain questions and (b) the potential for some questions to be divided and elaborated further. In this context, while ChatGPT can generate suitable research questions for individuals interested in basic scientific topics, these questions should be edited and reviewed by an expert. The research could be enhanced by incorporating insights from other academic disciplines.
