Call for Papers

Professor Huan-Nan Shi was born in Hunan, China in 1948. He worked at the Teachers College of Beijing Union University in China from 1980 until his retirement in December 2008. Professor Shi has been invited to give lectures in many domestic colleges and universities many times. He once served as a member of the Academic Committee of the Teachers College of Beijing Union University, the editorial board member of the Journal of Beijing Union University (Natural Science Edition), and the vice-chairman of the second council of the National Inequality Research Association. Now he is a consultant of the third council of the National Inequality Research Association, a commentator of the American Mathematical Review, and an editor of the International Journal of Mathematics and Physics. He has published more than 170 papers and 6 monographs. In 2019, supported by the National Science and Technology Academic Publications Fund, the English monograph "Schur-Convex Functions and Inequalities" was published by Harbin Institute of Technology Press and German Walter de Gruyter GmbH. He has been responsible for and participated in five scientific research projects supported by Beijing and Fujian Province.

Professor Shi's academic interests and research areas mainly include the theory of majorization, analytical inequalities, mathematical means and applications, convex analysis, probabilistic applications, and so on.

The purpose of this special issue is to pay tribute to the significant contributions in these fields of Professor Huan-Nan Shi and provides some important recent advances in theory, methods, and applications. We cordially and earnestly invite researchers to contribute their original and high-quality research papers which will inspire the advances in majorization theory, convex analysis, analytical inequalities, mathematical means, and probabilistic applications theory. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
• Majorization theory and applications
• Mathematical inequalities and means
• Convex analysis
• Matrix theory
• Probability theory

Keywords:
• Majorization theory
• Mathematical inequalities
• Mathematical means
• Convex analysis
• Matrix theory
• Probability theory

Submission Deadline: 31  August 2023

Special issue (2020) “Recent Developments in Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations (NPDEs)”

The partial differential equations (PDEs) arise in a wide variety of physical problems such as fluid dynamics, engineering mathematics, electrostatics, plasma physics, solid mechanics, chemistry, quantum field theory, biomathematics, etc. Moreover, nonlinear PDEs appear for example in stochastic game theory, non-Newtonian fluids, glaciology, rheology, nonlinear elasticity, flow through porous media, signal analysis, image processing, etc. Consequently, the need to understand the solutions of these equations finds always an important place for researchers working in the above mentioned areas. The proposed special issue aims to focus on recent progress in nonlinear partial differential equations by inviting high-quality original research papers on the following topics.

The deadline is December 31, 2020

The list of potential topics (but not limited to) related to nonlinear partial differential equations (NLPDEs) having relevance or application in:

• Fluid dynamics
• Traveling waves
• Control theory
• Stochastic modeling
• Fractional-order dynamics
• Time scale dynamic equations
