As Science and Technology Education Curriculum has been
rearranged in the basis on constructivist approach, the setting up of
the environment in which constructivist approach can be applied
has been of great importance. Problem based learning is one of the
methods which can be used in arranging the learning environment
involving daily life problems. In this study, students’ views about
the using of problem based learning in science and technology
course are aimed to find out. For this purpose, the unit of “systems
in our body” which includes in science and technology education
program has taught by using the method of problem based learning
for 4 weeks with the students from a primary school. After this
application, a semi-structured interview was conducted with
sixteen students to find out their views about the using of problem
based learning applications in science and technology course. The
results of analyzing the interview showed that students have
positive views about the problem based learning.

Fen ve teknoloji öğretim programının yapılandırmacı yaklaşım temelinde düzenlenmesiyle birlikte öğrencilerin öğrenme sürecine aktif katılımını sağlayan yapılandırmacı yaklaşıma dayalı öğrenme ortamlarının oluşturulması büyük önem kazanmıştır. Günlük hayata ilişkin olayların yer aldığı öğrenme ortamlarının oluşturulmasında kullanılabilecek yöntemlerden biri de probleme dayalı öğrenme yöntemidir. Araştırmada, ilköğretim öğrencilerinin fen ve teknoloji dersinde probleme dayalı öğrenme yönteminin kullanılmasına ilişkin görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla bir ilköğretim okulundaki öğrencilerle dört hafta süreyle Fen ve Teknoloji dersi Vücudumuzdaki Sistemler ünitesi probleme dayalı öğrenme yöntemi kullanılarak işlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin fen ve teknoloji dersinde probleme dayalı öğrenme yönteminin kullanılmasına ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla uygulama sonrasında on altı öğrenciyle yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Görüşme analizi sonuçları genel olarak öğrencilerin probleme dayalı öğrenme yöntemine ilişkin olumlu görüşlere sahip olduklarını göstermiştir.
