Öz

Job satisfaction isa very important factor affecting productivity in business

lines. The number of job satisfaction researches carried out in the field of Information

and Records Management since the 1970's is rather limited in

Turkey and there is not any study related to academic staff in this subject.

In this study, it's aimed to make a survey on the level of job satisfaction of

39 research assistants working inthenine Information and Records Management

Departments which effectively maintsin educational activities in

Turkey. The study designed in the descriptive survey model, has used survey

technique and the 20-item short form of the Minnesobı Satisfaction

Questionnaire to collect the research data. The dabı obtained from 35 of 39

research assistants were analyzed by SPSS 23 program. Pursuant thereto, it

was determined that participants had a normal job satisfaction according to

Minnesota parameters and their internal job satisfaction was higher than external

job satisfaction. However, no significant difference was observed in the

research results according to the demographic variabtes of the target group.
