Effects of the geographical location and season on semen characteristics of Italian honey bee (Apis mellifera ligustica) in the warm and temperate region of Turkey during the beekeeping season

Öz

Bu çalışma, Arıcılık döneminde coğrafi konumun ve mevsimin (ilkbahar ve yaz), Türkiye'nin Akdeniz (sıcak
bölge) ve İç Anadolu bölgesindeki (ılıman bölge) İtalyan bal arılarının (Apis mellifera ligustica) sperma
özellikleri üzerindeki etkisini değerlendirmek için tasarlanmıştır. Sperma, 140 yetişkin erkek arıdan düzenli
olarak toplandı. Motilite (%), yoğunluk (1 X 106 mL-1) ve canlılık (%) gibi sperma parametreleri
değerlendirildi. Ortalama spermatozoon motilitesi, sıcak ve ılıman bölgede sırasıyla %70,79±2.77 ve
%75,67±2,97 olarak bulundu. Ortalama spermatozoa yoğunluğu Akdeniz bölgesinde 6.60±0.91x106
spermatozoa ve İç Anadolu bölgesinde 5.27±0.67 x 106 spermatozoa oldu. Ortalama spermatozoa canlılık
Akdeniz ve İç Anadolu bölgesinde sırasıyla %74,81±2,67 ve %80,65±2,20 oldu. Çalışma periyodundaki
aylar, her iki bölgede de spermatozoon motilitesi, spermatozoa yoğunluğu ve spermatozoa canlılığı
üzerinde önemli düzeyde etkili oldu (P<0.01 ve P<0.001). Bal arısının coğrafi konumu, spermatozoa
motilitesi ve yoğunluğu üzerinde önemli bir etkiye sahip oldu (P<0.01). Sonuç olarak, İtalyan bal arısında
yaz aylarındaki çevre sıcaklığının sperma özellikleri üzerinde net sonuçlar verdiği görülmüştür. Sperma
özellikleri üzerindeki çevresel etkilerin yüksek olması, arıdaki sperma kalitesinin iklimsel sıcaklık ile coğrafi
konuma daha fazla bağlı olduğunu göstermektedir.
