Abstract

This study which aims to be applied of sweep net counting method in the survey of Pachytychius hordei (Col.:Curculionidae) adult population was carried out in Sivrihisar county of Eskişehir province in 1995-1996 years. According to findings, statistical connection was determinated between the number of P.hordei at square meter (m²) and 10 sweep net. This connection was evaluated as important. The regression estimation equation was found as y= 4.84+0.768x. It was determinated to could be use of the sweep net counting method instead of square meter (m²) method taking into consideration the weather conditions. Also if is accepted that; this method can be safely and easily used in research and application studies.
