Hemp (Cannabis sativa) is a valuable plant that can be used in its entirety, has economic value in many different areas, and is superior in almost all areas of use. It is a dioecious annual plant that is becoming more and more valuable for the pharmaceutical industry. Due to its fibers, seeds and especially the cannabinoids it contains, the number and quality of academic studies on this subject have been rapidly increasing recently. Phytochemical content is one of the most important factors in hemp production. The phytochemicals of Cannabis sativa are quite complex and hundreds of compounds from different chemical classes have been identified. In hemp, amino acids, fatty acids and steroids represent the primary metabolism, while cannabinoids, flavonoids, stilbenoids, terpenoids, lignans and alkaloids represent secondary metabolites. Cannabis sativa, which has the potential to contribute to the country's economy, has features that encourage use in both industry and medical fields, causing the plant to be considered as the plant of the future.
