The aim of this study is to investigate interior design strategies in motor yachts in terms of user experience, ergonomics, sustainability, and technological integration. Motor yachts, as mobile and compact residential environments, require spatial solutions that are expected to transcend aesthetic considerations and prioritize functionality, comfort, and adaptability to marine conditions. The scope of the study involves an assessment of how contemporary practices in the motor yacht industry strive to meet user expectations shaped by individualized lifestyles and technological advancements. The study refers to yacht interiors as complex constructs that demand careful consideration of materiality, circulation, equipment placement, and atmospheric quality. A qualitative research methodology was employed. After six motor yachts have been identified, three of them were selected for in-depth analysis based on their organization, material applications, ergonomic features, and design coherence. Study data were collected by means of field observations, semi-structured interviews with yacht crew and production professionals, and document analysis. The results were suggestive of the fact that a successful motor yacht interior required a multi-layered approach characterized by user-designer collaboration, contextual sensitivity, and innovation. In conclusion, prioritizing experiential quality, production logic, and sustainability could lead to more functional, enduring, and emotionally resonant interior spaces. This study contributes both to academic inquiry and professional practice within the evolving field of floating environments.
