Citation of author(s) in text

Single author:
According to Baysal (1982)
(Baysal, 1982: 26)

Two authors:
According to Wegener and Petty (1994) (...)
(Wegener & Petty, 1994: 26)

In texts with three or more authors, only the first author's name is used, followed by the phrase "et al.":
As stated by Harris et al. (2001) (...)
According to Harris et al. (2001) (...)
(Harris et al., 2001: 112)

In cases where the author's name is not known or specified, the first or two words in the text should be used in parenthesis and quotation marks:
Politicians and bureaucrats have stated that the results are unacceptable and scandalous ("Die Pisa-Analyse", 2001).

If the author is an organization or government institution, it is cited as the first citation; if it is a well-known institution, the abbreviation is preferred for subsequent use:
According to the American Psychological Association (2000).
First citation: (Mothers Against Drunk Driving [MADD], 2000: 65).
Second citation: (MADD, 2000: 65).

When citing more than one study in the same parenthesis, they must be sorted alphabetically and separated by two semicolons:
(Akar, H. 2010: 65; Çalışkan, 2008: 65; Dinçer & Kolaşin, 2009: 65; Engin-Demir, 2009: 65; Tunç, 2007: 65)

In authors with the same surname, the first letter of the name is also used to avoid confusion:
(E. Johnson, 2001: 65; L. Johnson, 1998: 65)

If two or more works of the same author published in the same year are cited; the letters (a, b, c) are used after the year:
According to the study of Berndt (1981a) (...)

Interviews, letters, e-mails obtained through personal communication, the name of the person contacted and the date of the interview should be specified. However, data obtained through personal communication should not be added to the bibliography:
(N. AlSayyad, personal communication, 25 March 2012)
N. AlSayyad on globalization and neoliberalism (...) (Personal communication, 25 March 2012)

Footnotes and endnotes
In the APA writing style, footnotes and endnotes are not preferred. Therefore, as few footnotes should be used as possible.

Important note:
If the study submitted to the IJMA journal for evaluation is prepared in English, the symbol "&" and "et al." should be used in the citations and references section.

The publication processes implemented in the journal are the basis for the development and distribution of information in an impartial and respectable manner. The processes implemented in this sense are directly reflected in the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support the authors. Peer-reviewed studies are studies that embody and support the scientific method. At this point, it is important that all stakeholders of the process (authors, readers and researchers, publishers, referees and editors) comply with the standards for ethical principles. Within the scope of BSEU-FHSJ publication ethics, all stakeholders are expected to bear the following ethical responsibilities. The following ethical duties and responsibilities are prepared by taking into account the guidelines and policies published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as open access. The publication of an article in the peer-reviewed journal is a necessary building block in the development of a harmonious and respected information network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutes that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and shape scientific methods. Therefore, reaching an agreement on the standards of expected ethical behavior is important for all parties involved in publishing, author, journal editor, referee and publisher institutions.

1. Authorship
• The references list must be complete.
• Plagiarism and fake data should not be included.
• The publication of the same research in more than one journal should not be attempted and should comply with science, research and publication ethics.

Actions contrary to the ethics of scientific research and publication include:

a) Plagiarism: Presenting the ideas, methods, data, applications, writings, shapes or works of others as if they were their own, in whole or in part, without referring to their owners in accordance with scientific rules,

b) Forgery: Producing data that is not based on research, editing or modifying the presented or published work based on unrealistic data, reporting or publishing them, making it look as if an undone research has been done,

c) Distortion: Falsifying research records and obtained data, making it look as if methods, devices and materials not used in the research, not evaluating data that is not in accordance with the research hypothesis, tampering with data and/or results to fit relevant theories or assumptions, falsifying or shaping research results in the interests of the persons and organizations supported,

ç) Repetitive Publication: Presenting multiple works containing the same results of a study as separate works in associate professorship exam evaluations and academic promotions,

d) Slicing: Presenting the results of a study as separate works in associate professorship exam evaluations and academic promotions by disassembling them inappropriately and making numerous publications without reference to each other, in a way that impairs the integrity of the research,

e) Unfair Authorship: Including people who do not have an active contribution among the authors, not including people who have active contributions among the authors, changing the author ranking in an unjustified and inappropriate way, removing the names of those who have active contributions from the work during publication or in subsequent editions, including their name among the authors using their influence even though they do not have an active contribution,

f) Other Types of Ethics Violations: Not stating the contributions of supporting persons, institutions or organizations in the publications of research carried out with support in an explicit manner, not complying with ethical rules in research on people and animals, not respecting patient rights in their publications, sharing the information contained in a work that is assigned to examine as an arbitrator with others before publication, using the resources, places, facilities and devices provided or allocated for scientific research for purposes. accusing persons of a completely baseless, unwarranted and deliberate violation of ethics (Board of Higher Education Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive, Article 8).

2. Author's Responsibilities
• All authors should contribute significantly to research.
• All data in the article must be declared to be real and original.
• All authors must ensure the recall and correction of errors.

3. Peer Responsibilities
• Assessments must be impartial.
• Referees should not be in conflict of interest with research, authors and/or research funders.
• Referees must specify the relevant works published but not cited.
• Checked articles should be kept confidential.

4. Editorial Responsibilities
• Editors have full responsibility and authority to accept or reject an article.
• Editors should not have a conflict of interest regarding the articles they accept or reject.
• Only articles that will contribute to the field should be accepted.
• When errors are found, they should support the publication or withdrawal of the correction.
• They should keep the name of the referees confidential and prevent plagiarism/fraudulent data.

The peer-review process is at the heart of the success of scientific publication. It is part of our commitment to maintaining and improving the arbitration process, and the BSEU-SBFD has an obligation to assist the scientific community in any case involving publishing ethics, especially in case of suspicious, recurring publications or in cases of plagiarism.

Articles Requiring Ethics Committee Permission
• All kinds of researches carried out with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from participants using survey, interview, focus group study, observation, experiment, interview techniques,
• The use of humans and animals (including material/data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,
• Clinical research on humans,
• Research on animals,
• Retrospective studies in accordance with the law on the protection of personal data.

• Retrospective ethics committee permission is not required for articles that have been used before 2020, produced from master's/doctoral studies (should be stated in the article), applied for publication in the journal in the previous year, accepted but not yet published.
• In the design of the research, the review of the design and the conduct of the research, the principles of integrity, quality and transparency should be ensured.
• The research team and participants discuss the purpose must be fully informed about the methods and possible uses of the research and the requirements of participation in research and the risks, if any.
• The confidentiality of the information provided by research participants and the confidentiality of respondents must be ensured. Research should be designed to protect the autonomy and dignity of participants.
• Research participants should voluntarily take part in the research and should not be under any coercion.
• Participants should be avoided from being harmed. Research should be planned in such a way as not to put participants at risk.
• The method should be clear about research independence; if there is a conflict of interest, it should be stated.
• In experimental studies, the written informed consent of the participants who decide to participate in the research must be obtained.
• The consent of the legal guardian of children and those under guardianship or those with a confirmed mental illness must be obtained.
• If the study is to be carried out in any institution or organization, approval must be obtained from this institution or organization that the work will be carried out.
• In studies with a human element, it should be stated on the first page and in the method section that "informed consent" is obtained from the participants and ethics committee approval is obtained from the institution where the study is conducted.

Manuscript Retraction: The author(s) who wish to request the withdrawal of their work during the evaluation phase are obliged to submit the petition containing withdrawal request for the article, signed and scanned with the wet signature of each author, to the editorial board via e-mail via the address editor.sbfd@bilecik.edu.tr . The Editorial Board will examine the withdrawal notice and returns within one week at the latest. Authors cannot submit their work to another journal for evaluation unless the editorial board approves the withdrawal request of the studies whose copyrights have been transferred to BSEU-SBFD at the submission stage.

Uncovering Plagiarism
Articles submitted to the journal for publication are subjected to double-sided blind peer-review evaluation by at least two referees. In addition, in the detection of plagiarism, it is declared by the authors that the articles have not been published before and do not contain plagiarism through TURNITIN or ITHENTICATE programs.

When the reader notices a significant error or inaccuracy in an article published in BSEU-FHSJ, or has any complaints about the content of the publication (plagiarism, recurring articles, etc.), s/he can make a complaint by emailing to editor.sbfd@bilecik.edu.tr.

There are not any submission fees, editorial processing fees or publication fees for the articles submitted to the journal or accepted for publication.
