Türkiye’de intiharın sosyo-ekonomik ve sosyo-psikolojik belirleyicileri: düzey 2 için bir panel veri çözümlemesi

Öz

Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de İBBS 2 düzeyinde yer alan 26 bölge için intihar ve sosyo-ekonomik belirleyicileri arasındaki ilişki 2004-2019 yılları ele alınarak dinamik panel veri analizi ile araştırılmış ve tahmin edilmiştir. Bu amaçla Arellano ve Bond tarafından geliştirilen genelleştirilmiş momentler methodu (GMM) yöntemi ile intiharı etkileyen sosyo-ekonomik faktörler cinsiyete göre ayrılarak farklı modeller ile incelenmiştir. GSYH değişkeni dahil edilerek kadın erkek ve genel olmak üzere üç model, GSYH değişkeni olmadan ise aynı şekilde kadın erkek ve genel olmak üzere üç model tahmin edilmiştir. Katsayıların anlamlılıklarını ölçmek için Wald testi, araç değişkenlerin doğru kullanılıp kullanılmadığını gösteren Sargan testi ve otokorolasyon probleminin tespiti için Arellano ve Bond otokorelasyon testleri uygulanmıştır. Cinsiyete göre farklılıkları ölçmek için Chow Testi kullanılmıştır. Evlenme, işgücüne katılım ve GSYH değişkenleri intihar üzerinde negatif etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Boşanma ve intiharın bir dönem öncesi ise intihar üzerinde pozitif etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Erkeklerin özellikle boşanma üzerinde güçlü tepki verdiği görülmüştür. Sonuçların cinsiyete göre farklılık gösterdiği kanıtlanmıştır. Kriz dönemlerinde oluşan işsizlik ortamı intihar üzerinde arttırıcı bir etkisi olduğu bulunmuştur.

Socio-economics and socio-psychologic determinants of suicide in Turkey: a dynamic panel analysis at nuts 2 level

Öz

In this study, the relationship between suicide and socio-economic determinants for 26 regions taking part at the NUTS 2 level in Turkey was investigated and estimated by dynamic panel data analysis by considering the years 2004-2019. For this purpose, socio-economic factors affecting suicide were analyzed with different models by separating them according to gender with the generalized moment method (GMM) which was developed by Arellano and Bond. Three models were estimated as female, male and general by including the GDP variable, and also, three models were estimated as female, male and general without the GDP variable . To measure the significance of the coefficients; The Walt test, the Sargan test, which shows whether the instrumental variables are used correctly or not, and the Arellano and Bond autocorrelation tests to determine the autocorrelation problem were carried out. The Chow Test was used to measure differences by gender. It was concluded that marriage, labor force participation and GDP variables had a negative effect on suicide. It was concluded that divorce and presuicidal syndrome had a positive effect on suicide. It has been observed that men especially react strongly to divorce. It has been proven that the results differ by gender. It has been found that the unemployment environment that occurs during crisis periods has an increasing effect on suicide.
