Coins from Allianoi Excavations: Campaign of 2000

Öz

During the campaign of 2000 at Allianoi, 889 coins, an Austrian counting piece/jetton (cat. no. 597) and a Byzantine weight (cat. no. 567) were unearthed (totaly 891 pieces)1. Since the coins found at Maymun Sekisi Tepesi near Allianoi were previously published they excluded from the catalogue.2 The first group covers the Classical and Hellenistic coins from Aeolis and Mysia (cat. nos. 1-8). While Aeolis is represented with Cyme and Lesbos; Mysia is represented with Pergamon.

Öz

Allianoi 2000 yılı kazı sezonunda bir adet Bizans ağırlığı (nomisma) ve bir adet Avusturya-Macaristan jetonunun yanı sıra 889 adet sikke ele geçti. Allianoi yakınındaki Maymun Sekisi Tepesi’nde bulunan sikkeler daha önce yayımlandığı için kataloğa alınmamıştır. Katalogtaki ilk grup Klasik ve Hellenistik dönem Aiolis (Kyme ve Lesbos) ve Mysia (Pergamon) bölgeleri sikkelerini kapsamaktadır. Katalogtaki en erken sikke Lesbos’a ait bir billon sikke olup MÖ 6.-erken 5. yüzyıllara tarihlenmektedir.
