Investigation of the Factors Constraining and Facilitating the Participation of Working Parents in Recreational Activities

Öz

Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the factors affecting working parents' participation in recreational activities and to understand the constraints or facilitating effects of these factors. Method: The study was designed in the relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. The study group consisted of a total of 262 volunteer participants, 55.3% (145) of whom were male and 44.7% (117) of whom were female, determined by the typical case sampling method, one of the purposive sampling methods. Demographic information form, " Leisure Constraints Questionnaire " (LCQ) and “Leisure Facilitators Scale” (LFS) were used as data collection tools in the study. In the statistical representation of the data, normality analysis and descriptive statistical analysis, independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Pearson correlation test were performed. Results: In line with the findings obtained, statistically significant differences were found in the variables of education level, employment status, frequency of participation in activities and the way of utilizing leisure time depending on the leisure constraints and leisure facilitators of working parents. As a result of the correlation analysis conducted to determine the level of relationship between the sub-dimensions of the scale, it was determined that there was a low level positive and statistically significant relationship between working parents' leisure constraints and facilitators. Conclusion: In conclusion, it emphasizes that there are statistically significant relationships between important variables affecting working parents' leisure time and that these relationships require further research and attention. These findings may provide valuable insights for developing strategies to manage leisure time more effectively.

Çalışan Ebeveynlerin Rekreasyonel Etkinliklere Katılımını Engelleyen ve Kolaylaştıran Unsurların İncelenmesi

Öz

Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı, çalışan ebeveynlerin rekreasyonel etkinliklere katılımını etkileyen faktörleri incelemek ve bu faktörlerin engelleyici veya kolaylaştırıcı etkilerini anlamaktır. Yöntem: Araştırma nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel tarama modelinde desenlenmiştir. Çalışma grubu amaçsal örneklem yöntemlerinden tipik durum örneklem yöntemi ile belirlenen %55,3’ü (145) erkek, %44,7’si (117) kadın olmak üzere toplam 262 gönüllü katılımcıdan oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak demografik bilgi formu, “Serbest Zaman Engelleri Ölçeği” (SZEÖ) ve “Serbest Zaman Kolaylaştırıcıları Ölçeği” (SZKÖ) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin istatistiksel gösteriminde, normallik analizleri ve tanımlayıcı istatistik analizlerin ile bağımsız örneklem t-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) ve pearson korelasyon testi yapılmıştır. Bulgular: Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, çalışan ebeveynlerin serbest zaman engelleri ve serbest zaman kolaylaştırıcılarına bağlı olarak eğitim düzeyi, çalışma durumu, aktivitelere katılım sıklığı ve serbest zamanı değerlendirme şekli değişkenlerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuştur. Ölçek alt boyutları arasındaki ilişki düzeyini belirlemek için yapılan korelasyon analizi sonucunda çalışan ebeveynlerin serbest zaman engelleri ile kolaylaştırıcıları arasında düşük düzeyde pozitif yönde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ilişkinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç: Sonuç olarak çalışan ebeveynlerin serbest zamanlarını etkileyen önemli değişkenler arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ilişkiler olduğunu ve bu ilişkilerin daha fazla araştırma ve dikkat gerektirdiğini vurgulamaktadır. Bu bulgular, serbest zamanı daha etkili bir şekilde yönetme stratejileri geliştirmek için değerli bilgiler sunabilir.
