The main purpose of this study is to reveal the effect of job insecurity on compulsory citizenship behavior. Another aim of the study is to examine whether job insecurity differs according to the gender and educational status of employees. For this purpose, the research was carried out with the participation of 307 local and chain market employees, who were reached by snowball sampling method operating in the Eastern Black Sea Region. IBM SPSS 26 and Mplus 7 programs were used to analyze the data obtained. According to the results of the analysis, job insecurity has a significant effect on compulsory citizenship behavior. In addition, other results of the study show that job insecurity differs according to gender and is higher among female employees, but there is no significant difference in terms of educational attainment.
