Extrapolatıon Of Numerıcal Code As Trace Element Of Relatıonshıp In-Between Ifá, Computer Scıence And Ayò Ọlọ́pọ́n

Ifá is bedrock of Yoruba culture. As a result of this, all cultural activities are linked back to Ifá́. Ayò ọlọ́pọ́n is an indigenous Yoruba board game. Despite the prominence of ayò ọlọ́pọ́n among the Yoruba and the entire world, no cultural significance has been associated to it beyond fun, jokes and trivial matters. Therefore, this study investigates and establishes crisscrossing of number values on 4 and 8 in Ifá and Computer Science in relation to 4 and 8 in ayò ọlọ́pọ́n. Code, which is a channel through which information is relayed, is adopted, since meanings of signs are revealed by their codes. Data are sourced from relevant available texts on the numerical values of 4 and 8 to establish interrelated roles and functions around Ifá, computer science and ayò ọlọ́pọ́n systems. Comparative method which is the basis of scientific knowledge aimed at establishing causes of similarities and difference in-between something or somebody is used. Meanings of 4 and 8 in Ifá and Computer Science are compared and related to those in ayò ọlọ́pọ́n. It is found out that, there is a synergy in-between the numerical code 4 and 8 in Ifá, computer science and ayò ọlọ́pọ́n. The study concludes that there is tripartite numerical code relationship in-between 4 and 8 in Ifá, Computer Science and ayò ọlọ́pọ́n on the one hand and on another hand, Ifá and ayò ọlọ́pọ́n numerology are memes.
