Yıl 2024, Cilt: 4 Sayı: 2, 39 - 43, 30.12.2024

In parallel with the development of technology, digital screens have become an indispensable part of our daily lives. This leads to problems with the eyes in proportion to the duration of use. According to the results of the “Household Information Technologies Usage Survey” of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), 70 percent of households in Turkey have a computer, and 98.7 percent have a mobile phone or a smartphone. Computer Vision Syndrome describes a group of eye and vision problems that occur as a result of long-term use of computers. Symptoms include eye strain, irritation, burning and headache. Since there is no single cause of the syndrome, a multifaceted approach is required. In addition to the frequent occurrence of symptoms, people’s inadequate knowledge about the subject and the lack of adequate precautions make Computer Vision Syndrome a significant public health problem.
