Pressure Injury Knowledge Levels of Nursing Students Applying Computer-aided Simulation Application: A Quasi Experimental Study

Öz

Objective: To determine the effect of a computer-aided simulation application for pressure injury on nursing students’ knowledge and satisfaction level. Method: The study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design. The study was con ducted with 184 second-year nursing students. Before the computer-aided simulation (CAS) application, the Student Identification Form and the Pressure Ulcer Knowledge Assessment Tool 2.0 (PUKAT 2.0) were applied to the students. Afterward, students were given online training. Two weeks after the training was completed, the CAS application was applied. After the application, an analysis session was held, and immediately afterward, the PUKAT and student satisfaction questionnaire were applied to the students online. Results: While the total PUKAT score average of the students for pressure injury was 8.61±3.36 before the CAS application, it increased to 12.94±2.90 after the application. The post-CAS satisfaction scores, we found that the average score was 44.77±6.54 (min:10-max:50). Conclusion: The scores of pressure injury information increased after the online education and CAS application given to the students.
