ACİL DURUM UZAKTAN ÖĞRETİMİN ÖĞRENCİLER ÜZERİNDEKİ ETKİSİ: BİR MİMARLIK BÖLÜMÜ DERSİ ÖRNEĞİ

Öz

2019 yılı sonunda ortaya çıkan Covid-19 salgını, günlük yaşamı tümüyle değiştirmiştir. Eğitim yöntemleri de bu değişimlerden kendine düşen payı almıştır. Alınan tedbirlerle birlikte, Türkiye’deki üniversitelerde yürütülen yüz yüze eğitim süreci çevrim içi öğrenme yöntemine evrilmiştir. Bu hızlı değişikliğe üniversiteler ayak uydurmaya çalışmış, zorunlu olarak yapılan uzaktan eğitim sürecini farklı metotlarla tamamlamaya çalışmışlardır. Bu kapsamda, acil durum uzaktan öğretiminin olumlu ve olumsuz çıktıları ile öğrencilerin kazanımları ve karşılaştıkları sorunlar araştırmaya değer görülmüştür. Bu bağlamda, Mimarlık Bölümü uygulama ağırlıklı zorunlu derslerinden Yapı Bilgisi dersi kapsamında, salgının getirdiği uzaktan eğitim sürecinde yaptırılan teknik çizim uygulamaları analiz edilmiş ve anket çalışmasıyla öğrencilerin düşünceleri öğrenilmeye çalışılmıştır. Google Classroom üzerinden çevrim içi olarak yapılan anketten elde edilen veriler, Microsoft Excel ve SPSS programına aktarılarak frekans analizi gibi temel analizler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma bulgularında, öğrencilerin uygulamalarla birlikte projelerinde olumlu ve olumsuz denebilecek değişikliklere gittiği görülmüştür. Öte yandan, anket sorularına verdikleri cevaplarda, salgının getirdiği uzaktan eğitim süreci ile Yapı Bilgisi I dersi için farklı bir deneyim elde ettiğini belirten öğrencilerin, bundan sonraki süreçte teorik konuların uzaktan eğitim, uygulamaların ise yüz yüze şeklinde gerçekleşmesini istedikleri ortaya çıkmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, ortaya çıkan bulgular tartışılmış ve konuya dönük birtakım öneriler sunulmuştur.

THE EFFECT OF EMERGENCY REMOTE TEACHING ON STUDENTS: A CASE OF AN ARCHITECTURE DEPARTMENT COURSE

Öz

The Covid-19 epidemic that emerged at the end of 2019 has completely changed daily life. Education methods have also taken their share from these changes. With the measures taken, the face-to-face education process carried out in universities in Turkey has evolved into the online learning method. Universities tried to keep up with this rapid change and tried to complete the compulsory distance education process with different methods. In this context, the technical drawing applications made during the distance education process brought by the epidemic within the scope of the Building Information course, which is one of the application-oriented compulsory courses of the Department of Architecture, were analyzed and the thoughts of the students were tried to be learned through a survey study. The data obtained from the online survey conducted via Google Classroom were transferred to Microsoft Excel and SPSS program and basic analyzes such as frequency analysis were carried out. In the findings of the study, it was seen that the students made positive and negative changes in their projects with the applications. On the other hand, in the answers they gave to the survey questions, it was revealed that the students, who stated that they gained a different experience for the Construction Knowledge I course with the distance education process brought by the epidemic, wanted the theoretical subjects to be realized in the form of distance education and the applications face-to-face in the next process. At the end of the study, the findings were discussed and some suggestions were presented.
