Oral and Dental Health Approach in Children Treated with Asthma

Öz

The increasing number of asthmatic children in our country and around the world is an important health problem. Beta 2-agonists used in the treatment of asthma can affect the oral and dental health of the child. Tooth decay and periodontal diseases can be seen commonly, especially in asthmatic children. Awareness should be created about the oral and dental problems that are ignored in asthmatic children and preventive dentistry programs should be expanded.

Astım Tedavisi Gören Çocuklarda Ağız Diş Sağlığı Yaklaşımı

Öz

Astımlı çocuk sayısı ülkemizde ve dünya genelinde giderek artan önemli bir sağlık sorunu olmaktadır. Astımın tedavisinde kullanılan beta 2-agonistleri çocuğun ağız diş sağlığını etkileyebilmektedir. Özellikle astımlı çocuklarda diş çürüğü ve periodontal hastalıklar yaygın olarak görülebilmektedir. Astımlı çocuklarda göz ardı edilen ağız ve diş sorunları ile ilgili farkındalık yaratılmalı ve koruyucu diş hekimliği programları yaygınlaştırılmalıdır.
