Mühendislik Fakültesinde Kimya Öğretiminin Değerlendirilmesi

The importance of science and technology is Fairly high in the development of the communities. So, the importance of chemistry in the sciences is also growing steadily. Quantitative approaches in chemistry teaching have been accepted in recent years. Most of the educators state that the students receiving general chemistry lesson at the first class of University reached at the situation in which they could solve chemical problems at the and or of the term. In general, the problems based on in student's brain. In this study, pre. and post — test consisting of 20 questions concerning solutions and required mathematical procedures were applied to 210 students who are in morning and night section at the departments of chemistry, machine and construction of Engineering Faculties. And the data obtained were evaluated in SPPS programmed with shiquare (x2) test. The last test was applied to the students after the lessons had been told, and it was used that the value of p from obtained values was found higher than p < 0.05. This indicated that the students had been understood the subjects told. In the responses to the mathematical and conceptual questions, we tried to detect how successful the students were. It was determined that the students were forced to understand and interpret the concepts about subject of solutions.

Fen bilimlerinin ve teknolojinin, toplumların gelişmesinde önemi oldukça fazladır. Fen bilimlerinde kimya öğretiminin önemi de giderek artmaktadır. Kimya öğretiminde niceliksel yaklaşımlar, son yıllarda kabul edilir olmuştur. Çoğu eğitimci, üniversite I. sınıfta Genel Kimya dersi alan öğrencilerin yarıyıl veya yarıyıl sonuna doğru kimyasal problemleri çözebilecek yeterliliğe geldiklerini belirtirler. Genelde öğrenci zihninde hep matematiksel işlemlere dayalı soruların önemli olduğu da hâkimdir. Bu araştırmada, Atatürk Üniversitesi Mühendislik fakültesinde örgün ve ikinci öğretim kimya, makine ve inşaat bölümleri birinci sınıfta okuyan toplam 210 öğrenciye, çözeltiler konusu ile ilgili kavramsal ve matematiksel işlem gerektiren (sayısal) 20'şer soruluk ön test ve konu anlatımından sonra da son test uygulanarak elde edilen veriler SPSS programında x2 (ki kare) testi ile değerlendirilmiş, elde edilen verilerden p değerinin p
