DIALOGUE JOURNALS IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING

Abstract

In the post – communicative approaches of foreign language teaching, the use of communicative activities, which aim to have a real purpose gained more importance. Writing dialogue journals is one of these activities that is used in foreign language classrooms to improve genuine communication. This activity which was formerly an activity of the Whole Language Learning is now being used in various other approaches too. They are used to improve both reading and writing skills. This paper explains the benefits and the procedure of the dialogue journals by giving examples from an ongoing study about dialogue journals.
