The First Known Anatomists in History and Their Contributions to The History of Medicine

since the beginning of humanity has led people to seek solutions to diseases. Historically, research in the field of medicine has mostly been conducted to find the causes of common diseases and to get rid of these diseases. Different solutions were produced in different communities formed by people settling down. The first research for this began with studies on the human body. This paved the way for the development of anatomy. Some papyruses dating back to 1000 BC show that the ancient Egyptians were interested in some aspects of anatomy during mummification. The real foundations of human anatomy were laid by the Alexandrian school in the 4th century BC. Praxagoras of Kos and his students dissected human cadavers In this compilation, it was aimed to research and present the scientists who worked in the field of medicine and anatomy for the first time in history and their important studies.
