Öz

In the last hour of the school year, my teacher asked: “When two people get in a fi ght, who will withdraw?” The correct answer, which the teacher gave us, was: “The more civilized one!”. There have been no common defi nitions of civilization and art thus far. There has also been no consistent theory connecting these two defi nitions. If we wish to defi ne them and to understand the communication between them, it is necessary to track a historical way of human evolution from nature to civilization. And we should ask a question if animals followed such way?

Öğretim döneminin son saatinde öğretmenim, “İki kişi kavgaya tutuştuğu zaman, hangisi kavgadan çekilir?” diye sordu. Öğretmenin bize verdiği doğru yanıt: “Daha medeni olan” idi.Şu ana kadar medeniyet ve sanatın üzerinde anlaşılmış tanımları olmamıştır. Ayrıca, bu iki tanımı birbirine bağlayan tutarlı bir teori de olmamıştır. Eğer bunları tanımlamak ve ikisi arasındaki iletişimi anlamak istersek, insanın doğadan medeniyete evriminin tarihinin izlerine bakmamız gerekir. Ve hayvanlar da böyle bir yol mu izlediler diye bir soru sormalıyız
