The Privileged Positions of Art, Genius and Miscommunication in Schopenhauer

Öz

This paper, based on Schopenhauer’s The World As Will and Representation, aims to show how Schopenhauer opens a new space for his view on art with his use of the quatation marks in the opening sentence of his work. The main subject of this text is also to show what the main concepts of his view on art; especially art, genius and idea, which are of fundamental importance, provides from this point of view. To execute this, the text endeavours to disambiguate the book’s position about possibility of communication and the foundational role of his system’s anomalies. This will show the importance of Schopenhauer’s understanding and of his concepts which provide a privileged positon to his view on art in the history of philosophy

Schopenhauer’de Sanat, Deha ve İletişimsizliğin Ayrıcalıklı Konumu

Öz

Bu yazı, Schopenhauer’in İsteme ve Tasarım Olarak Dünya kitabını temel alarak, kitabının başlangıcında kullandığı tırnak işaretinin sanat görüşüne nasıl bir kapı araladığını göstermeyi amaçlamaktadır. Sanat, deha, idea gibi sanat görüşünün temelinde yer alan kavramların bu noktadan okunduğunda bize neyi verdiğini göstermek de bu metnin temel derdini oluşturur. Bunun gerçekleştirilmesi için, Schopenhauer’in metninin iletişim olanaklarını nereye konumladığı ve onun sistemindeki anomalilerin, kendi sistemi içerisinde nasıl da kurucu bir rol üstlendiği belirginleştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu hem Schopenhauer’in hem de onun sanat görüşünü oluşturan kavramların, felsefe tarihindeki önemini bir kez daha gösterecektir
