Abstract. In this study, the effect of the rate of adulterant to the decomposition of ormaldehyde in okoume plywoods which are produced with urea formaldehyde adhesive is examined. As adulterant, powder of PET bottle is added to the formaldehyde adhesive and plywood is produced from okoume veneer. With the addition of the adulterant to the rate of % 0-10-20-30 the guantity of adhesive dry material into the adhesive solution, 4 kinds of adhesive wer preparend. In these plywoods, the decomposition of formaldehyde experiments according to TS 4894 were carried out and the results have been compared. As a result, it was concluded that decomposition of formaldehyde decreases, with the increase of the quantity of adulterant.
