PHYSICO-CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF HATAY HARBIYE SPRING WATER

Öz

This study, purposing to determine water quality

characteristics of Harbiye spring water, located in Antakya, Hatay,

were begun on April 2003 and was carried out 12 months by taking

water samples monthly. Water quality parameters of dissolved

oxygen, pH, temperature, salinity, chemical oxygen demand (COD),

biological oxygen demand (BOD), total alkalinity and hardness, total

dissolved solids, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, sulphite,

sulphate, chloride, potassium, sodium and silica analyses were done.

Change in water quality parameters of Harbiye spring water by

months were determined. At the and of the study, it is understood

that water quality of the spring water is adequate for trout farm.

HATAY HARBİYE KAYNAK SUYU’NUN FİZİKOKİMYASAL ÖZELLİKLERİ

Öz

Hatay’ın Antakya merkezinde bulunan Harbiye kaynak suyunun su kalitesi

özelliklerini belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmaya Nisan 2003

tarihinde başlanılmış ve 12 ay boyunca yürütülmüş olup, su örnekleri aylık olarak

toplanmıştır. Su kalitesi parametrelerinden çözünmüş oksijen, pH, sıcaklık,

tuzluluk, kimyasal oksijen ihtiyacı (KOİ), biyolojik oksijen ihtiyacı (BOİ), toplam

alkalinite, toplam sertlik, askıda katı madde (AKM), amonyak azotu, nitrit, nitrat,

fosfat, sülfit, sülfat, klor, potasyum, sodyum ve silis analizleri yapılmıştır. Yapılan

çalışma sonucunda Harbiye kaynak suyunun su kalitesi parametrelerinin aylara

göre değişimleri belirlenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda kaynak suyunun alabalık

çiftliği için uygun kalite de olduğu anlaşılmıştır.
