INVESTIGATION OF WIND POWER POTENTIAL ON THE CAMPUS OF DUMLUPINAR UNIVERSITY

Öz

is getting more complicated to make a decision regarding the choice of

energy type mainly because of like reasons the weakness of the available energy, the

environmental pollution, the increase of the social interest to energy problem, etc.

Continuous uses of fossil fuels are bound to pollute the atmosphere and consequently

unwanted greenhouse and climate change effects will come to dominate every part of

the earth. It is. therefore, advised to exploit clean energy resources. and for many

nations in the world to try to assess their environmentally friendly, clean energy

resources such as wind energy. Hence, it is an urgent situation to determine the wind

energy potential in every country. The wind energy is a very clean energy source

promising hope in the short term in our country. It is necessary to determine the start

of the immediate usage of this potential and the investigation of the necessary

technique and economic feasibility. For this purpose. the determination of wind

potential in Kutahya-Kiz.lbayir has been investigated for a period of 16 months.

After the evaluation of the data taken for 16 months by using the available software,

the amount of regional wind energy has been determined.

Ruzgar enerjisi ulkerniz icin krsa vadede oldukca Omit var olan temiz bir enerji

kaynagidrr, Bu kaynagm biran once kullarulmaya baslanmas: icin gerekli teknik ve

ekonomik fizibilite cahsrnalannm yapilmasi gerekrnektedir. Bu calisma kapsarnmda

yorenin ruzgar enerjisi potansiyelinin belirlenmesi amaciyla Durnlupmar Universitesi

Merkez Kampus alanmda ruzgar olcumleri yaprlmrstrr. Kampus alanmda kurulan

ruzgar oleum istasyonundan Ternrnuz 2001- Ekim 2002 tarihleri arasmda ruzgar hizi

ve yonu degisimleri incelenrnistir. 16 ay boyunca ahnan veriler, mevcut yazihmlar

vasitasiyla degerlendirilip bolgenin ruzgar enerjisi potansiyeli bulunrnustur. Oleum

alarunda yer seviyesinden lOve 30 m yukanda gozlenen yillik ortalama ruzgar hrz:

sirasiyla 4. I ve 4.4 m/s olarak bulunmustur.
