BOOK REVIEW - ESKİ UYGURCA DÖRT ÇATİK

Abstract

Various problems have always been experienced at the point of solution of the texts of the Old Uyghur Turkish texts which have been read up to date including the Old Turkish Inscriptions. Although many problems have been solved in comparison with the old one due to the increase of the vocabulary which can be exemplified by the presence of new texts and comparative language knowledge, there are still some problems in this matter. The problems exist not only in the reading of words, but also in the etymological descriptions of words. In this context, the book "Eski Uygurca Dört Çatik" which written by Ümit Özgür Demirci was examined.

KİTAP İNCELEMESİ - ESKİ UYGURCA DÖRT ÇATİK

Öz

Eski Türk Yazıtları da dahil olmak üzere günümüze kadar okunagelmiş Eski Uygur Türkçesi metinlerin çözümü noktasında çeşitli problemler hep yaşanmıştır. Yeni metinlerin bulunması vesilesiyle örnek teşkil edebilecek söz varlığının artması ve karşılaştırmalı dil bilimi verileri sayesinde eskiye nazaran birçok problem çözülmüş olsa da aslında bu konuda hâlâ birtakım sorunlar yaşanmaktadır. Problemler, yalnız kelime okunuşlarında değil kelimelerin etimolojik açıklamalarında da söz konusudur. Bu kapsamda Ümit Özgür Demirci’nin hazırladığı “Eski Uygurca Dört Çatik” adlı eser incelenmiştir.
