Oxidative DNA Damage Products and Diseases
Öz
The free radicals formed with many ways and antioxidant defence mechanism is in a balance within the organism. In cases when
the free radicals are not cleaned enough from the organism, it causes damage to the DNA and damage products are formed. These
damage products can lead to many metabolic diseases, to aging, to cancer and even modifications in the structure of DNA which is a
genetic material. 8-hydroxy-2’-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) is a damage product whose mutagenity is most known.
