Orta Amerika, Güneydoğu Asya ve Doğu Afrika Bölgelerinin İsimlendirilmesi ve Sınırlarının Tespit Edilmesi Sorunu

Öz

Siyasi coğrafyada bölgelerin isimlendirilmesi ve buna bağlı olarak bu bölgelerin sınırlarının tespiti konusu nispi bir özellik arz etmektedir. Bu çerçevede çalışmada jeostratejik ve jeopolitik açıdan eksen konumda bulunan bölgelerden Orta Amerika, Güneydoğu Asya ve Doğu Afrika bölgelerinin tarihsel süreç içerisinde ne şekilde isimlendirildiği ve bu isimlendirmelere/toponimlere bağlı olarak sınırlarının nasıl değiştiği ve hangi mekânsal sınırlara karşılık geldiği ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada niteliksel araştırma yöntemleri kullanılmak suretiyle öncelikle zikredilen bölgeler için ilgili literatürde kullanılan tanımlamalar incelenmiştir.

The Problem of Terminology and Determination of The Borders of Central America, Southeastern Asia and East Africa Regions

Öz

The naming of regions in political geography and, accordingly, the determination of the borders of these regions have a relative feature. In this context, in this study, it has been tried to reveal how Central America, Southeast Asia and East Africa regions, which are geostrategic and geopolitical axis regions, were named in the historical process and how their boundaries changed depending on these toponyms and which spatial boundaries corresponded to. In the study, the definitions used in the relevant literature for the mentioned regions were examined by using qualitative research methods.
