Determination of Bemisia (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) species in Adana province and surroundings

Abstract

This study has been conducted to determine Bemisia species in Adana province and surroundings of Turkey and totally 259 samples were collected from different host plants in 2015-2016. According to identification results, Bemisia afer Priesner & Hosny, B. argentifolii Bellows & Perring, B. berbericola Cockerell, B. giffardii Kotinsky, B. graminus David & Winstone, B. hancocki Corbett, B. iole Danzig, B. mesasiatica Danzig, B. tabaci Gennadius and B. tuberculata Bondar were determined during this study. B. berbericola, B. iole and B. mesasiatica were the first reports for Turkish Aleyrodidae fauna.

Adana ili ve çevresinde Bemisia (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) türlerinin belirlenmesi

Öz

Bu çalışma, 2015-2016 yılları arasında Adana ili ve çevresinde bulunan Bemisia (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) türlerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada farklı konukçu bitkilerden toplam 259 adet örnek toplanarak Adana ili ve çevresinde Bemisia cinsine bağlı 10 tür tespit edilmiştir. Bu türler; Bemisia afer Priesner & Hosny, B. argentifolii Bellows & Perring, B. berbericola Cockerell, B. giffardii Kotinsky, B. graminus David & Winstone, B. hancocki Corbett, B. iole Danzig, B. mesasiatica Danzig, B. tabaci Gennadius ve B. tuberculata Bondar olup, B. berbericola, B. iole ve B. mesasiatica Türkiye için ilk kayıt niteliğindedir.
