Thrips and aphids species detected on linden trees in the city center of Isparta

Abstract

This study was carried out on the purpose of determining thrips and aphids species on linden trees in the central parks and sidewalks of Isparta in 2013. Aphids and thrips samples were collected by using a beating method, picked twigs and a hand aspirator from the linden trees in 28 sampling sites in the city center. In this study two aphid species including Eucallipterus tiliae (Linnaeus) and Aphis fabae (Scopoli) (Hemiptera: Aphididae) and totally 7 thrips species were determined including Thrips major (Uzel), Thrips meridionalis (Priesner), Thrips tabaci (Lindeman) and Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) from Thripidae, Haplothrips reuteri (Amyot & Serville) and Haplothrips knechteli (Priesner) from Phlaeothripidae and Aeolothrips collaris (Priesner) from Aeolothripidae belonging to the order Thysanoptera. Thrips species and A. fabae determined in this study were represented a new record for the insect fauna of Tilia argentea and T. platyphyllos in Turkey. In addition, Adalia bipunctata (Linnaeus), Adalia fasciatopunctata revelierei (Mulsant) and Oenopia conglobata (Linnaeus) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) were obtained with the samplings.

Isparta il merkezinde bulunan ıhlamur ağaçları üzerinde saptanan trips ve yaprakbiti türleri

Öz

Bu çalışma Isparta il merkezinde park ve yol kenarlarındaki ıhlamur ağaçları (Tilia spp.) üzerinde bulunan trips ve yaprakbiti türlerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla 2013 yılında yürütülmüştür. Yaprakbiti ve trips örnekleri il merkezinde 28 ayrı örnekleme alanında bulunan ıhlamur ağaçlarında darbe, dal sayım yöntemleri ile ağız aspiratörü ile toplanmıştır. Çalışmada, Eucallipterus tiliae (Linneaus) ve Aphis fabae (Scopoli) (Hemiptera: Aphididae) olmak üzere iki yaprakbiti türü, Thysanoptera’ya bağlı Thripidae’ye ait türlerden Thrips major (Uzel), Thrips meridionalis (Priesner), Thrips tabaci (Lindeman) ve Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) Phlaeothripidae’den Haplothrips reuteri (Amyot & Serville) ve Haplothrips knechteli (Priesner) ve Aeolothripidae’ye ait Aeolothrips collaris (Priesner) olmak üzere toplam 7 trips türü belirlenmiştir. Bu araştırmada belirlenen A. fabae ve trips türleri Türkiye’de Tilia argentea ve T. platyphyllos böcek faunası için ilk kayıt niteliği taşımaktadır. Ayrıca yapılan örneklemeler sırasında Adalia bipunctata (Linnaeus), Adalia fasciatopunctata revelierei (Mulsant) ve Oenopia conglobata (Linnaeus) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae)’da bulunmuştur.
