(THE POLITICS, THE LAÏCITÉ AND THE IMMIGRATION: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF TURKISH AND ARMENIAN COMMUNITIES IN FRANCE)

Öz

Turkish immigrants, compared to Armenian and other Muslimimmigrants are relatively new in France. Although France hosts almost equalnumber of Armenians and Turks, their effect on social, political and economiclife of the country is very disproportionate. Turkish community in France isenthusiastic for changing the images of Turks and Muslims in this host country.They still maintain strong ties with Turkey and want to play a role on behalf oftheir country of origin. Turkey needs to change its mentality of seeing theTurkish community in France as a problem and extend a hand to its expatriates,both for the sake of them and itself
