Türkiye’de Hemşireler Tarafından Yürütülen ve Kemoterapi İlişkili Periferal Nöropati’de Nonfarmakolojik Yöntemleri Araştıran Tezlerin Sistematik Derlemesi

Öz

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, Yükseköğretim Kurulu Ulusal Tez Merkezi veri tabanında yer alan lisansüstü tezlerde, Kemoterapi İlişkili Periferal Nöropati yönetiminde kullanılan nonfarmakolojik yöntemlerin etkilerini belirlemektir.

Yöntem: Literatür taramasıYükseköğretim Kurulu Ulusal Tez Merkezi’ veri tabanında 10-15 Mart 2025 tarihleri arasında yapıldı. ‘Kemoterapi’, ‘kanser’, ‘onkoloji’, ‘periferal nöropati’, ‘periferik nöropati’, anahtar kelimeleri kullanıldı. Dahil etme ve dışlama kriterleri PICOS (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, Study design) yöntemine göre belirlendi. İncelenen tezler yazar, yayın yılı, uygulama süresi, anabilim dalı, tez türü, araştırmanın türü ve amacı, örneklem sayısı, yaş grubu, kullanılan ölçüm araçları ve nonfarmakolojik yöntem(ler), araştırma sonuçları açısından tablo haline getirilerek değerlendirilmiştir.

Bulgular: Yapılan sistematik inceleme kapsamında, 2013–2024 yılları arasında tamamlanmış toplam 26 lisansüstü teze ulaşılmıştır. Başlık, özet ve tam metin değerlendirmelerinin ardından dahil etme kriterlerini karşılamayan çalışmalar dışlanmış ve nihai olarak 10 tez incelemeye alınmıştır. İncelenen tezlerin %80’inin doktora düzeyinde olduğu ve tamamının belirtilen yıllar arasında gerçekleştirildiği belirlenmiştir. Çalışmaların %50’sinin iç hastalıkları hemşireliği anabilim dalında yürütüldüğü saptanmıştır. Araştırma tasarımları incelendiğinde, tezlerin %90’ının randomize kontrollü çalışma niteliğinde olduğu ve örneklemlerin %90’ında 18 yaş ve üzeri bireylerin yer aldığı görülmüştür. Veri toplama araçları açısından değerlendirildiğinde, çalışmaların %30’unda EORTC QLQ-CIPN-20, %30’unda ise CIPNAT ölçeğinin kullanıldığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca tezlerin %40’ında nonfarmakolojik girişimler kapsamında egzersiz uygulamalarına yer verildiği saptanmıştır.

Sonuç: Ülkemizde onkoloji hastalarına uygulanan nonfarmakolojik yöntemlerin kemoterapi ilişkili periferal nöropati yönetiminde etkili olduğu belirlenmiştir. Hemşirelerin, periferal nöropatiyi azaltmaya yönelik nonfarmakolojik yaklaşımlar uygulamaları ve değerlendirmede geçerli ölçekler kullanmaları önerilmektedir.

A Systematic Review of Theses Conducted by Nurses in Turkey Investigating Non-Pharmacological Methods in Chemotherapy-Related Peripheral Neuropathy

Öz

Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the effects of non-pharmacological methods used in the management of Chemotherapy-Related Peripheral Neuropathy in postgraduate theses included in the Higher Education Council National Thesis Centre database.

Methods: The literature review was conducted in the Higher Education Council National Thesis Center database (March 10–15, 2025) using the keywords ‘chemotherapy’, ‘cancer’, ‘oncology’, and ‘peripheral neuropathy’. Theses were selected based on PICOS criteria and evaluated for author, year, duration, department, type, research purpose, sample, age group, measurement tools, non-pharmacological methods, and results.

Results: Within the scope of the systematic review, a total of 26 postgraduate theses completed between 2013 and 2024 were identified. Following title, abstract, and full-text evaluations, studies that did not meet the inclusion criteria were excluded, and ultimately 10 theses were included in the review. It was determined that 80% of the reviewed theses were at the doctoral level and that all were completed within the specified years. It was found that 50% of the studies were conducted in the field of internal medicine nursing. When the research designs were examined, it was seen that 90% of the theses were randomised controlled trials and that 90% of the samples included individuals aged 18 years and older. In terms of data collection tools, it was determined that the EORTC QLQ-CIPN-20 was used in 30% of the studies, while the CIPNAT scale was used in 30%. Furthermore, it was found that 40% of the theses included exercise applications within the scope of non-pharmacological interventions.

Conclusion: Non-pharmacological methods are effective in managing chemotherapy-related peripheral neuropathy, and nurses are advised to use these approaches with valid assessment scales.
