Clinical Use of Acute Phase Proteins in Cattle

Yıl 2011, Cilt: 20 Sayı: 3, 240 - 246, 01.12.2011

Öz

The acute phase response is an innate response activated by harmful stimuli such as inflammation, tissue damage, infection and bacterial component. Over the last few years, acute phase proteins have become the biomarkers of choice for monitoring inflammation and infection for diagnostic and prognostic purposes in veterinary medicine. This review focuses on features of the acute phase protein biomarkers currently used in cattle
