REPEAT BREEDING PROBLEMLİ BİR SÜT SIĞIRI İŞLETMESİNDE BOVINE VIRAL DIARRHEA VIRUS (BVDV) ENFEKSİYONUNUN KLİNİK, SEROLOJİKVE VİROLOJİK YÖNDEN İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Burdur ilinde, Repeat Breeding (döl tutmama) problemine sahip bir süt sýðýrý iþletmesinde Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV)enfeksiyonu klinik, serolojik ve virolojik yönden araþtýrýldý. Bu amaçla, sürüde bulunan 25 inek ve 8 buzaðýdan alýnan kan serumu örnekleriBVDVye karþý antikor (Ab) ve lökosit örnekleri BVDV antijen (Ag) varlýðý yönünden ELISA ile incelendi. Çalýþmada, 7 buzaðýdan alýnankan serum örneklerinde BVDV (Ab) ve lökosit örneklerinde BVDV (Ag) varlýðý belirlenmedi. Bu buzaðýlarýn annelerine ait kan serumuve lökosit örneklerinde de BVDV (Ab) ve BVDV (Ag) varlýðý tespit edilmedi. Ancak, 1 buzaðýnýn kan serum örneðinde BVDV (Ab) varlýðýtespit edilmezken, lökosit örneðinde BVDV (Ag) varlýðý bulundu. Bu buzaðýnýn annesine ait kan serumlarýnda BVDV (Ab) varlýðý tespitedilmezken ve lökosit örneklerinde BVDV (Ag) varlýðý belirlendi. Bu anne ve buzaðýsýnýn 45 gün sonraki ikinci kan örneklemelerindede ayný sonuçlarýn elde edilmesine baðlý olarak, hayvanlarýn persiste enfekte (PI) olduðuna karar verildi (%6.06). Bununla birlikte, 7adet BVDV (Ab-/Ag+) ve 4 adet BVDV (Ab+/Ag+) tespit edilen ineklerden 45 gün sonra tekrar alýnan kan örneklerinde de ayný sonuçlartespit edildi. Bu hayvanlarýnda persiste enfekte (PI) olduðuna karar verildi

Investigation of Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV) Infection Clinically, Serologically and Virologically in a Dairy Management with Repeat Breeding Problem

Öz

In Burdur province, the infection of Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV) was investigated clinically, serologically and virologicallyin a dairy herd having the problems of the Repeat Breeding. For this purpose, serum and leucocyte samples from 25 cattle and 8 calveswere collected. Serum samples for the presence of antibody (Ab) and leucocyte samples for the presence of antigen (Ag) were examinedby ELISA. In the study, the presence of BVDV-Ab in serum samples, obtained from 7 calves and the presence of BVDV-Ag in leucocytesamples obtained from these calves were not detected. The presence of Ab and Ag in serum and leucocyte samples belonging to thedams of these calves were not detected. But, the presence of Ag in leucocyte samples of the same animal was detected while thepresence of Ab in sera sample of a calf was not detected. The dam of this calf was negative serologically and was positive virologically.The leucocyte samples obtained from this cow and its calf after 45 days were retested .They were described as persistent infected (PI)animals (6.06%). However, the presence of Ag in leucocyte samples obtained again from cattle found 7 BVDV (Ab-/Ag+) and 4 BVDV(Ab+/Ag+) after 45 days was detected and these animals were also decided to be PI
