Ortaokul Öğrencilerinin Bilim İnsanına Yönelik Tutum ve İmajının Belirlenmesi

Öz

Bu araştırmanın amacı; ortaokul öğrencilerinin bilim insanına yönelik imaj vetutumunu etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek ve bu faktörlerin bilim insanına yönelik imaj vetutum üzerindeki etkilerini tespit etmektir. Bu araştırmada nicel araştırmayöntemlerinden tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırma 2012 – 2013 eğitim öğretimyılında Yozgat ili kırsalında bulunan bir ortaokulun 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerindenoluşan toplam 114 öğrencinin katılımı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada katılımcılaraliteratür taraması sonucunda oluşturulan “Kişisel Bilgiler Anketi” orijinali Korkmaz 2004 tarafından Chambers’ ın 1983 DAST Bir Bilim İnsanı Çiz Testi ölçeğine adapteedilerek oluşturulan “Bilim İnsanına Yönelik İmaj Ölçeği” ve literatür taramasısonucunda oluşturulan geçerliliği ve güvenilirliği cronbach alfa = 0,81 belirlenmiş olan30 maddeden oluşan 5’li likert tipi “Bilim İnsanına Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği” uygulanmıştır.Veriler SPSS programı ile t-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi ANOVA ve korelasyonanalizi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analizler sonucunda öğrencilerin bilim insanlarınınfiziksel özelliklerine yönelik bir takım kalıplaşmış erkek, dağınık, laboratuar önlüklügibi yargılara sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Bu bilgilerden yola çıkarak medya, internetgibi kaynaklar aracılığıyla konu alanlarına göre bilim insanlarına ve onlarınçalışmalarına yer verilmeli ve kullanılan figürler öğrencilerin bilime ve bilim insanınayönelik imajlarını geliştirecek şekilde düzenlenmelidir
