This study aims to examine the effects of photography-based art psychotherapy on patients'perception of loneliness, emotional expression, and ruminative thinking in individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia. The study was conducted in a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design with 9 individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia in a community mental health center between 27 December 2023 and 08 May 2024. In this study, a 16-session photography-based art therapy method was used. The Berkeley Emotion Expression Scale, the Ruminative Thought Scale, and the UCLA Loneliness Scale were used. When the pre-test and post-test scores obtained from the scales were compared, no significant difference was found, while a decrease in the loneliness and ruminative thought scale scores and an increase in the emotion expression scale scores were determined (Z = -652 p > .05; Z = 0.889 p>.05; Z=-1.902 p>0.05. Psychosocial support interventions such as photography and individual art therapy are thought to be beneficial in the long term for those with a chronic mental disorder, and such programs should be incorporated into therapy
