Neurinoma of the Hypoglossal Nevre in the Submandibular Region: A Case Report

Abstract

Neurinomas of the peripheral segment of the hypoglossal nevre are very rare. In the present article, we reported a neurinoma, localized in the submandibular region, in a 67-year-old woman. The tumor presented as a slow-growing, painless mass in the right submandibular space. A surgical approach with transcervical exploration was performed. The post-operative course was uneventful.

Öz

Hipoglossal sinirin periferik segmentinden kaynaklanan nörinomalar oldukça nadir görülmektedir. Bu yazıda submandibuler bölge yerleşimli hipoglossal nörinomalı, 67 yaşındaki bayan olguyu sunduk. Tümör sol submandibuler bölgede yavaş büyüyen ağrısız bir kitle olarak ortaya çıkmıştı. Kitle transservikal yaklaşımla cerrahi olarak çıkarıldı. Postoperatif dönemde herhangi bir problem yaşanmadı.
