Nietzsche as an Anti-Darwinist

The relation between Nietzsche’s philosophy and Darwin’s ideas is a matter of debate among Nietzsche’s readers. Some consider Nietzsche as a Darwinian, but some others put Nietzsche in an opposite position to Darwinizm. In this article, I will try to show that although Nietzsche to some extent considers Darwin’s ideas in his philosophy; his position is contrary to fundamental values in Darwin’s understanding. Nietzsche ventures to give a naturalistic account of human being in relation to other living beings by introducing conjectures within a hypothetical approach, as Darwin does. However, he criticizes Darwin’s ideas about the primariness of self-preservative drives through his ideas about overhuman Übermensch , noble and slave forces

BİR ANTİ-DARWİNİST OLARAK NİETZSCHE

Öz

Nietzsche felsefesinin Darwin’in fikirleriyle nasıl bir ilişki kurduğu fikri Nietzsche okuyucuları arasında büyük bir tartışma konusudur. Bir taraf Nietzsche’yi Darwinci ilan ederken başka bir taraf Nietzsche ve Darwin düşüncelerini karşıt taraflara yerleştirir. Bu makalede ise Nietzsche’nin belli ölçüde Darwin’in fikirlerine sahip çıktığı fakat felsefesinin ortaya koymaya çalıştığı anlayışın geneli itibariyle Darwinci değerlere sahip olmadığı iddia edilecektir. İnsanın diğer canlılarla olan ilişkisinin hesabını Nietzsche Darwin gibi doğalcı bir anlayışla verir. Darwin gibi insanın ortaya çıkışını hipotetik, tarihsel kestirimlere dayalı, bir bakış açısıyla sunar. Fakat, en genelde, kendini koruma dürtüsüne verdiği birincil önem, ilerlemeci anlayış gibi Darwin anlayışının merkezinde bunulan fikirlere üstinsan Übermensch düşüncesi, efendi ve köle kuvvetlerin ilişkisi üzerinden eleştiri getirir
